Matt Albers is a key to this pitching staff. While he pitched 2 innings in Aberdeen, to end the 2008 season…. Him getting on the mound here, and having success is a great sign.
The results (2 scoreless innings) are a bonus… him being ready to physically pitch 2 innings is the key.
I continue to believe that Albers with be in the Orioles rotation, when the O’s come North.
Chris Ray also appears ready to go, as he provided a scoreless inning. Having Ray provide a successful season, in conjunction with Sherrill and Johnson, gives the Orioles the possibility of limiting games.
Nolan Reimold is not going to make this team, but I am ecstatic any-time he reminds the organization that he can be a viable piece of the puzzle going forward. Today he did just what with two hits, including a HR and four RBI in the first three innings.
