Last week, we profiled each member of the Maryland Terrapins’ 2015 recruiting class. In this article, we will take a look at the high schoolers that the Terrapins are targeting who have yet to commit to where they will play in 2015. Now that the postseason has concluded, Randy Edsall and his staff will be hard at work over the next few weeks securing their relationships with these players before National Signing Day on February 4, 2015.

Other Offers: None

High School: Bishop McDevitt

Allen Thigpen (Chandler, AZ) – 0-star Dual-Threat Quarterback

Offers: None
Chris Riddle (Saint Augustine, FL) – 0-star Pro-Style Quarterback
High School: University Christian
Offers: None
The Terrapins already have one quarterback in their 2015 class (Gage Shaffer), so adding another one is not a priority. If they were to add another, Kelly Hilinski is the most likely candidate. He is a junior college recruit from California who originally committed to Columbia. With the lack of experienced quarterbacks on the roster after Caleb Rowe graduates, the coaching staff may want to add a junior college recruit at the position.
Running Backs
Bryce Love (Wake Forest, NC) – 4-star All-Purpose Back
High School: Wake Forest
Other Offers: Appalachian State, Arkansas, Brown, Clemson, Duke, East Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State, South Carolina, Stanford, Syracuse, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Wisconsin
John Kelly (Oak Park, MI) – 3-star Athlete

High School: Union City
Offer: Buffalo, James Madison, Pittsburgh
Cameron Vaughn (Oakton, VA) – 0-star Running Back
High School: Flint Hill School
Offers: Bryant University, Jacksonville State, Marshall, New Hampshire, Toledo
Maryland has one running back in its 2015 class already (Ty Johnson), but would certainly like to add another before National Signing Day. Bryce Love is said to be choosing mainly between Stanford and North Carolina, though Tennessee is making a late push. Maryland isn’t considered to be in the running. They also aren’t considered to be in the running for John Kelly, who is said to be choosing between Michigan and Michigan State, with Minnesota and Tennessee making late pushes. Jahmee Ballard is certainly a possibility for the Terrapins, though they haven’t made him an offer as of yet. He has taken just one official visit (to Boise State), but has received no scholarship offers. He has reportedly received interest from Alabama, Boise State, Illinois, Michigan, Syracuse, and West Virginia.
Wide Receivers
Ryan Davis (Saint Petersburg, FL) – 4-star Wide Receiver
High School: Lakewood
Other Offers: Alabama, Arizona, Auburn, Central Florida, Cincinnati, Florida, Florida Atlantic, Florida International, Florida State, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas State, Kentucky, Louisville, Marshall, Memphis, Miami (FL), Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina State, Ohio State, South Florida, Syracuse, Tennessee, Texas Tech, Toledo, UCLA, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, Washington State, West Virginia, Wisconsin
Equanimeous St. Brown (Anaheim, CA) – 4-star Wide Receiver
High School: Servite
Other Offers: Arizona, Arizona State, California, Colorado, Duke, Fresno State, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, LSU, Miami (FL), Minnesota, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Penn State, San Diego State, Stanford, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, UCLA, USC, Utah, Vanderbilt, Washington, Washington State
John Petrishen (Pittsburgh, PA) – 3-star Wide Receiver
High School: Central Catholic
Other Offers: Akron, Albany, Bowling Green, Brown, Bucknell, Buffalo, Columbia, Cornell, Delaware, Duquesne, Eastern Michigan, Fordham, Holy Cross, Indiana State, James Madison, Lehigh, Louisiana-Lafayette, Northwestern, Penn State, Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh, Richmond, Syracuse, Temple, Toledo, Virginia, Wake Forest, Western Michigan, West Virginia, William & Mary, Wofford, Yale
Kelvin McKnight (Bradenton, FL) – 3-star Wide Receiver
High School: Manatee
Other Offers: Florida Atlantic, Florida International, South Florida, Troy
Devin Phelps (Baltimore, MD) – 2-star Wide Receiver
High School: St. Frances Academy
Other Offers: Akron, Appalachian State, Delaware, Gardner-Webb, Maine, Towson, Wake Forest, West Virginia
Robert Branch (Baltimore, MD) – 3-star Wide Receiver
High School: Gilman School
Offers: Boston College, Rutgers
Jordan Caleb Allen (Braintree, MA) – 2-star Wide Receiver
High School: Thayer Academy
Offer: Boston College
Justin Julien (St. Catharines, ON) – 0-star Wide Receiver
High School: Canada Prep Academy
Offers: None
Elisha Sewell (Middletown, DE) – 0-star Wide Receiver
High School: Eastern Christian Academy
Offers: None
The Terrapins already have two wide receivers in their 2015 class (D.J. Moore and Jahrvis Davenport), so adding more isn’t the top priority. None of their top targets are considered to be Maryland leans by any means, but Kelvin McKnight seems to be the most likely candidate if the team wanted to add a third wide receiver. Ryan Davis has kept Maryland on his list, but is said to be choosing between Florida, Florida State, and Auburn. Kentucky and Alabama have joined Maryland in an attempt to make a late push for his commitment. He would be an elite addition in a slot receiver role for the Terrapins. Equanimeous St. Brown may have the best name of any recruit this year, but will likely commit to Notre Dame (he is a saint after all). Stanford, UCLA, and USC are making late pushes. Devin Phelps was considered to be a likely UAB commit until their football program was discontinued. He is a local kid, and Maryland could certainly pick him up as an outside receiver. Jordan Caleb Allen is expected to commit to Boston College.
Tight Ends
Tavin Richardson (Duncan, SC) – 3-star Tight End
High School: James F. Byrnes
Other Offers: Arkansas, Boston College, Central Florida, Cincinnati, Florida, Florida International, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisville, Marshall, Miami (FL), Mississippi, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Pittsburgh, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Western Kentucky
Damonte Scott-Terrell (Upper Marlboro, MD) – 0-star Tight End
High School: Dr. Henry A. Wise, Jr.
Offers: None
Maryland has a number of young tight ends on its roster, and Mike Locksley’s offense does not utilize multiple tight ends very often. Tavin Richardson is a great receiving tight end who could have a future at wide receiver. However, he is likely to commit to Kentucky, with Central Florida, Louisville, and Nebraska making late pushes. Damonte Scott-Terrell would be a depth pickup if the coaches wanted a tight end in this class, though the Terrapins have not offered him a scholarship as of yet.
Offensive Linemen
Isaiah Prince (Greenbelt, MD) – 4-star Offensive Tackle
High School: Eleanor Roosevelt
Other Offers: Alabama, Auburn, Boston College, East Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Louisville, LSU, Marshall, Michigan, Nebraska, North Carolina State, Ohio State, Old Dominion, Penn State, Rutgers, Temple, Tennessee, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, West Virginia
Quarvez Boulware (Washington, DC) – 4-star Offensive Guard
High School: Friendship Collegiate Academy
Other Offers: Alabama, Auburn, Boston College, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Iowa, Marshall, Miami (FL), Mississippi State, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Ohio, Old Dominion, Syracuse, Temple, Wake Forest
Jared Southers (West Orange, NJ) – 3-star Offensive Tackle
High School: Seton Hall Preparatory School
Offers: Buffalo, Connecticut, Fordham, Massachusetts, Monmouth, Old Dominion, Rutgers, Temple, Yale
Evan Adams (Norwalk, CT) – 3-star Offensive Tackle
High School: Norwalk
Verbal Commitment: Syracuse
Other Offers: Connecticut, Massachusetts, Syracuse, Temple
Jake Jones (Newark, DE) – 2-star Offensive Center
High School: Paul M. Hodgson Vocational Technical
Offers: None
Grant Branch (Lombard, IL) – 0-star Offensive Guard
High School: Montini Catholic
Verbal Commitment: Eastern Illinois
Offers: Army, Eastern Illinois, Indiana State, South Dakota State, Western Illinois
Chris Zirkle (League City, TX) – 0-star Offensive Guard
High School: Clear Springs
Offers: None
Mike White (Jacksonville, FL) – 0-star Offensive Guard
High School: Paxon School for Advanced Studies
Offers: None
Isaiah Prince and Quarvez Boulware are undoubtedly Maryland’s top two targets across their big board. Adding both of them would be a major improvement for the Terrapins’ offensive line, as they would join Derwin Gray, Damian Prince, and 2015 recruit E.J. Donahue as very highly ranked linemen on Maryland’s roster. Boulware seems to be the more likely to commit to the Terrapins, as most analysts see him as a Maryland commit at this stage. Florida and Wake Forest are making pushes for him, but he seems very focused on Maryland. The Terrapins have a lot more competition for Prince, but are still considered by many to be the favorites for his commitment. Alabama is their main competition, with Ohio State also attempting to make a late push.
Defensive Linemen
Byron Cowart (Seffner, FL) – 5-star Strong-Side Defensive End
High School: Armwood
Other Offers: Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Central Florida, Clemson, Coastal Carolina, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Southern, Louisville, LSU, Miami (FL), Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, South Carolina, South Florida, Tennessee, Texas, Tulsa, UCLA, USC, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Wisconsin

Other Offers: Arizona State, Boise State, California, Iowa State, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Washington

Byron Cowart is obviously at the top of this list, as many national analysts believe he is the best recruit in the entire country. With an extremely strong showing at the Under Armour All-American Game recently, he caught the eye of everyone. He just recently announced that he has made up his mind where he will sign, but has left Maryland off of his final list of Auburn, Florida, and Florida State. However, he has said that his upcoming official visits to each school could change his mind. Maryland stayed in the game for as long as they could, but ultimately couldn’t compete with the southern schools for his commitment.
Austrian Robinson and Deonte Reynolds are the more likely recruits for Maryland, and both are very talented in their own rights. Maryland is considered to be the favorite for Robinson, who would fit into Brian Stewart’s 3-4 defensive system as a strong-side defensive end. Penn State, Ohio State, and Central Florida are all making late pushes for his commitment. Reynolds is a junior college recruit who would provide much-needed experience at the nose tackle position. Maryland’s main competition for his commitment will come from Oklahoma and Arizona State. The Terrapins are making a big push for Tyrell Jacobs, who would fit as a weak-side defensive end for Brian Stewart. However, he is considered to be leaning heavily towards Missouri, with Oklahoma also being in the mix.
Linebackers
Saleem Brightwell (Paramus, NJ) – 3-star Outside Linebacker
High School: Paramus Catholic
Other Offers: Boston College, Charlotte, Connecticut, Duke, East Carolina, Illinois, Iowa, Miami (FL), Michigan State, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Oregon, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse, Wake Forest, Wisconsin
Malachi Felder (Elkton, MD) – 3-star Inside Linebacker
High School: Eastern Christian
Other Offers: Miami (FL), Syracuse, West Virginia
Shaquille Jones (Philadelphia, PA) – 0-star Outside Linebacker

Offer: Virginia Military Institute

High School: Westlake
Offers: None
Anthony Malaguti (Ramsey, NJ) – 0-star Outside Linebacker
High School: Don Bosco Preparatory
Offers: Delaware, James Madison, Richmond, Villanova
Brian Stewart’s 3-4 defensive system can never have enough linebackers, so the Terrapins are always looking to stock up. The 2015 season will see new starters at 3 of the 4 linebacker positions, so finding depth behind them is crucial. Maryland has commitments from 4 linebackers in their 2015 class already, so adding another one seems unlikely. Saleem Brightwell is said to be choosing between Miami (FL) and Michigan State, with Pittsburgh and Missouri making late pushes. Malachi Felder is certainly a possibility, with the Terrapins getting competition from Miami (FL) and Syracuse. While they haven’t made him a scholarship offer, Maryland has been recruiting Hudson Hall in Texas. They’re getting competition from Baylor and San Diego State for his commitment.

The Terrapins have two defensive backs in their 2015 class already, but would probably like to add at least one or two more before National Signing Day. Holton Hill would be a great pickup, but is said to be choosing between Texas and Baylor with LSU and Alabama making late pushes. Pittsburgh is considered to be the favorite for Jay Stocker, with Duke, Syracuse, and Wisconsin making late pushes. Juantez McRae has been recruited heavily by Oregon State, but Georgia Tech, Tennessee, and Wisconsin are making very strong late pushes for his commitment. Arkansas is considered to be the favorite for Antonyo Sotolongo, with Duke and Wisconsin making late pushes.
