You have to feel good for Jeremy Guthrie. With his 7 shut-out innings today, he has lowered his era to 4.96. Certainly nothing to brag about, but it looks a lot better than the 5.66 era he was sporting on August 16.
During these past 4 starts, Guthrie has pitched 27 innings, allowing 22 hits, 4 er, 2 homers, 4 walks, with 15 k’s.
It is really encouraging to see that the guy did quit on himself, and continued to work.
The results here will help his value if you want to trade him, or make you feel better about bringing him back if you choose that route.
