Baltimore beat DC 4-2 in the first game of intra-league play.
Rich Hill showed again why he is going to be a positive addition to the rotation, as he went 5.2 innings, allowed 3 hits, 2 er, with 6 k’s. He also had 4 walks, which he would pay for, if he has similar control issues against the AL East.
The bullpen came into the game to give 6.1 innings of scoreless ball.
Matt Albers replaced Adam Eaton on the staff, and immediately made a contribution… pitching the end of the 6th, and 7th innings.
Johnson and Baez each pitched 2 innings, and allowed only 1 combined hit.
Sherrill got the save with a scoreless 12th, after the O’s had scored in the top of the inning.
Reimold hit his 2nd Major Leaguer homer.
