Brian Matusz recorded his 2nd Major League win last-night, as the O’s won 8-7 in Tampa.
After Brian Roberts hit a grand-slam in the Top of the 6th, Matusz was not able to finish the bottom of the inning.
However, Matusz did go 5.1 innings, allowing 7 hits, 4 er, 0 bb’s, with 7 k’s.
That is back-to-back starts for Matusz with 7 k’s. A couple of Rays hitters looked absolutely overwhelmed trying to deal with Matusz’s curve and change-up.
Matusz has yet to have a start where he allowed less hits than innings pitched, but his gaining great experience for 2010.
