Terps played a strong game today, beating the Hokies 83-70 to move to 16-8 overall, and 5-5 in the ACC.
With the victory, MD is one game back of VaTech in the ACC standings, and has the all important head-to-head win in their pocket.
Terps were an outstanding 24-26 from the foul-line, hitting all of their shots down the stretch.
This was a team victory, with positive contributions from several players, including:
Milbourne, who had 23pts and was a force all over the court. His posterizing dunk over Vassallo, will be a Youtube highlight for some-time to come.
Vasquez, who hit 3 three pointers, and set the tone early. He fouled out, but finished with 17pts.. more importantly, he played outstanding defense on both Delaney, and Vassallo.
Hayes had 12, Mosley had 9, Bowie had 8… Tucker played a strong-floor game… and Neal and Gregory combined to limit the impact of Jeff Allen.
From here, MD travels to Littlejohn to face #12 Clemson on Tuesday night. The Tigers play at Virginia tomorrow.
If Virginia was able to pull the upset, over Clemson – MD could tie the Tigers in-conference play at 6-5 with a win.
