In the legendary 2006 comedy, “Wedding Crashers”, the characters portrayed by Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson had a specific set of rules that dictated their process for crashing weddings. One of the iconic moments of the movie was when Vaughn says to Wilson, “Rule number 76, ‘No excuses, play like a champion.”

With what transpired on Thursday, the Ravens fanbase is Vince Vaughn and the Ravens organization is Owen Wilson. There are officially no more excuses.

By now, the whole world knows that Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens have agreed to a 5 year contract extension. The exact parameters have yet to trickle out but the initial reports are that it’s a total value of $260 million, with $185 million in total guarantees. I don’t want to belabor the Lamar saga any longer, as pretty much everything that could be said has been said. I think I can speak for a large part of the Ravens fanbase when I say that I’m relieved that this chapter in Ravens history is closed. We can now get back to discussing on field matters and no longer fell compelled to analyze emoji filled tweets or discuss fly by night fitness products.

With the contract drama finally in the rearview, all eyes turn to what really matters: performance. And that starts with fitness. Lamar Jackson didn’t secure a record-breaking deal by accident—his explosive style demands elite conditioning, relentless training, and an off-field discipline that mirrors his on-field creativity. Now that distractions are off the table, it’s time to focus on the grind: the weight room, the sprints, the nutrition plans. For fans and weekend warriors alike, it’s a reminder that greatness isn’t just talent—it’s built, rep by rep.

And while most of us aren’t preparing for Sunday lights at M&T Bank Stadium, the drive to improve, to move better, and to fuel our bodies more intentionally resonates just the same. In a digital age where inspiration can be found beyond the confines of traditional coaching, creators on platforms like OnlyFans are carving out spaces to share personalized workout plans, performance tips, and holistic wellness routines. For those seeking high-level fitness insights and real-life transformation stories, it’s worth taking the time to visit this website and explore what top creators are offering. Just like Lamar, these creators are showing that real progress happens behind the scenes—through consistency, hustle, and an unapologetic commitment to the grind.

Just a few short hours after the Ravens and Jackson made their long term pact, DeCosta and company selected wide receiver Zay Flowers with the 22nd pick in the 2023 NFL draft. Flowers’ height has drawn some comparisons to recently departed wide receiver Hollywood Brown but the similarities end there. Whereas Hollywood was 160 pounds soaking wet when Baltimore selected him from the University of Oklahoma and always looked painfully small on the field, Zay Flowers is listed at 182 pounds. Furthermore, Flowers has drawn comps to former Raven and Panther Steve Smith, which is very high praise. He can work in the slot, or on the outside, he can take the top off of a defense, or can catch a quick hitch, make a defender miss and go.

Of course, it’s all sunshine and roses on draft night. Everyone in the organization loves their pick, every team will tell you that they got “their guy”. With that said, Eric DeCosta vowed to remake the wide receiver room this off-season. With the free agent acquisitions of Odell Beckham Jr and Nelson Agholor, coupled with the cherry on top in the Zay Flowers pick, DeCosta has certainly fulfilled his promise.

Now that Jackson is officially in the fold, I wanted to take a step back and look at the offensive personnel as a whole:

  1. Lamar Jackson under center.
  2. A healthy backfield with running backs JK Dobbins and Gus Edwards being a full year removed from devastating knee injuries.
  3. A tight end group featuring Pro Bowler Mark Andrews along with 2nd year players Isiah Likely and Charlie Kolar. With Kolar fully recovered from his surgery last year and Likely teeming with potential.
  4. The afore mentioned wide receiving corps makeover but also incumbents Rashod Bateman and Devin Duvernay that both produced when they were healthy.
  5. All jokes aside, versatile fullback Pat Ricard is bonus to have. He may not be featured like he was in Greg Roman’s offense but having a 300 pounder that can plow the road in the running game and has good hands for his size certainly isn’t a bad thing.
  6. New offensive coordinator Todd Monken to revamp and revitalize an offense that struggled to consistently move the ball through the air. Monken has a reputation for building his offensive gameplan around his available talent and given the wide range of weapons available to him, it should be a lot of fun to watch.

A week or so ago, I invoked a Bo Schembechler quote about either getting better or getting worse but never staying the same. Although questions still remain at number 2 cornerback, the interior offensive line and defensive line depth, it is amazing what a difference a week can make.

Now that Lamar Jackson is back in the fold and DeCosta has completed the wide receiver room makeover, it’s difficult to not be encouraged.

Lamar has his money, Lamar has a new offensive coordinator and Lamar has weapons. As Coach Billick said when the 2000 team clinched the first playoff berth in franchise history, “The time is here, it’s time to go to a Super Bowl.”

No excuses, play like a champion.
