The Baltimore Ravens kick off their Pre-Season schedule tonight against the Carolina Panthers at Ravens Stadium.
Here are the things I will be watching:
1) I’m interested in watching the second-tier Ravens receivers. I’m projecting the Ravens to carry 5 WR’s with the expectation of Mark Clayton as the 4th. What about Williams, Reed, Harper? Who steps up?
2) I will be looking at the rookie TE’s Dickson, and Pitta. Will be interesting to see how they are used, and if Flacco looks their way against the 1st-team Carolina defense. How often does Cameron utilize the two TE offense tonight?
3) How does Parmele look in the return game? Does Reed also feature here?
4) The lights go on for Graham and Cundiff tonight. Who hits when it counts? How do they look on kickoffs?
5) How does Chris Chester look at Center? If Birk falls to injury, it is important that Chester shows he is capable.
6) Cousins at Tackle. How does he look on the outside against the edge rush?
7) Do we get to see Cody, and Ngata together at DT? Do they show the capability of collapsing the pocket from the middle?
8) Paul Kruger, and Arthur Jones, does either one show an ability to help the line?
9) Ellerbe, and Gooden have fallen behind McClain at the ILB. How do they look? What about Jason Phillips? Is Barnes able to bring down the Carolina QB’s from the outside?
10) I’m really looking forward to an extended look at Travis Fisher, Chris Hawkins, Prince Miller, KJ Gerard, and Doug Dutch and seeing if any of them take advantage of the opportunity provided to them tonight. They should get some extended playing-time. They have the chance to show everyone they can help the Secondary as Nickle and Dime backs.
