Nothing Simon does in 20 innings of Spring Training ball is going to convince me that Alfredo Simon should make the O’s roster that comes North.
That said, his start tonight likely guranteed him a roster spot, possibly in the rotation.
6innings, 1 er, 4 hits, 1 bb, 3 k’s…. I respect him for stepping-up and making the most of his opportunity… I do not feel it carries more weight than his age, and historically body of work.
I do not feel there is justification for carrying him over Penn, or Liz, or Pauley for that matter.
If you wanted to take Simon over Eaton, I could support that.
