Chris Tillman was roughed-up a bit tonight for AAA Norfolk.
In 3.2 innings of work, Tillman allowed 6 hits, 4 er, 4 bb’s, 1 homer, with 4 k’s.
In his 84 pitches, he threw only 45 strikes.
It was a rough-enough outing that I am sure it will give the organization some pause about bringing him up.
In the end, it should not carry more weight vs what he has done all year.
He went into tonight, with 7 consecutive starts of over 6 innings pitched.
In his previous 4 starts, he had allowed 4 walks combined. As he matched that total tonight, it seems clear that Tillman’s nerves got the best of him.
If the O’s planned before tonight to bring him to the bigs for the KC series, they should still do that.
