Freel is getting another start at SS… I know for the Spring, that Freel has at least 3 errors at SS… this is another audition, and will be a factor in how the roster is shaped.
Before yesterday’s rainout, Trembley had put out quotes that it was an important start for Penn.
Today, Hendrickson is getting the start, with Penn in relief.
Part of the reason the rotation, and pitching staff as a whole appears in-flux, is because Trembley, and Kranitz have not handled things well.
They have gone back and forth on roles for pitchers, and have not been more definitive in their statements.
They are also being swayed by the minimal innings, and aches and pains of Spring, vs the long-term resumes of individual players.
If you are reading the tea-leaves like myself, today is going to be an important day for the roster.
