Chase Utley has suffered a thumb injury and will out for at-least the next 8 weeks for the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Phillies are only 4 games out of 1st place, but are in 3rd place in the National League East. To get to the post-season, they are going to need to replace Utley with some offense.

Wigginton is a better reserve than everyday starter, but the Phillies will be hard-pressed to find a player more capable of helping. With Wigginton’s ability to play multiple positions (including 2nd) he would be a valuable addition to Philadelphia.
