As reported yesterday by Matt Bracken and The Baltimore Sun, the University of Maryland is hosting Baltimore’s (City) Nick Faust this weekend.

While the Terps are getting ready to host a football game, the potential addition of Faust to the Terps basketball program is the biggest story today in College Park.

Faust is one of the best guards in the Country, which of course makes getting his commitment a priority. The fact that he is the best player in Baltimore brings a further sense of urgency to his recruitment.
If you add Faust to Howard, Stoglin, Parker, and Gibbs – that is going to be a group of guards capable of matching-up with everyone for years to come.
Assistant Coaches Bino Ranson, and Keith Booth have done their job selling Maryland to the Baltimore product. Head Coach Gary Williams made an in-person emotional pitch. Now Faust has to visit and decide if College Park is where he wants to be.
Getting past Faust for a second, I do not mean to downplay the significance of getting Johnny O’Bryant to visit. The 6’10 PF is ranked as the 13th best player in the 2011 class by ESPN. Unless Faust verbals, and O’Bryant decides he wants to join his friend; I am not envisioning his commitment this weekend.
