2008 1st-round pick Brian Matusz made his Major League debut tonight for the Baltimore Orioles in Detroit. Over 5 innings, Matusz allowed 6 hits, 1 er, 3 bb's, with 5 k's. He gave way to Chris Ray in the 6th, and has been staked to a 7-1 lead, and should receive his...
Losing is never enjoyable, but watching youth is
The Baltimore Orioles lost last night 6-5 in Detroit. After scoring 5 runs in the top of the 1st, the O's were held scoreless for the remainder of the game. Watching the game slip away, and the Orioles lose was not enjoyable; but watching their youth was. There was...
What can be done about the Boston and NY crowds at OPACY?
To me, the most obvious thing that can be done to reduce the amount of Boston and NY fans at OPACY, is to have a better Oriole product on the field. In that regard, I honestly feel 2009 will be the beginning of the end of the RedSox and Yankee crowds.I do not believe...

Troy Patton with back to back solid starts
Overall, Troy Patton has had a rough transition to AAA in 2009. As I have said numerous times, 2009 was never about results for Patton. You just wanted to see the guy be able to regularly take the ball every 5th day. His consistency and production at AA Bowie was a...
